Farida Irani

Farida Irani founded Subtle Energies as a clinic in 1993. She is a qualified Ayurveda Practitioner, a clinical Aromatherapist and teacher qualified in Aromatic Medicine, Bowen Therapy Instructor, a Remedial Therapist, and a Reflexologist. She completed her postgraduate studies (Ayurveda Nishnata) with world-renowned Prof Dr. P H Kulkarni (Ex Dean Ayurveda University, Pune, India). In October 2006, the International Ayurveda Open University awarded Farida her Ayurveda Parangat in recognition of her research in Ayurveda. Farida spends her time speaking at international conferences, teaching at the Subtle Energies College of Ayurveda Aromatherapy, running her clinic, volunteering, and propagating the health sciences. Farida is the Co-Founder of Ayurveda Yoga Australia, which holds the International Ayurveda & Yoga Conference. Farida is also responsible for bringing the Australian science of Bowtech, the original Bowen Therapy, to India and Taiwan. She continues to promote these sciences through her work and remains dedicated to helping and encouraging people to attain a well-balanced lifestyle.

Khursheed Irani holds a Bachelor of Health Science in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. She is also a clinical aromatherapist, qualified in Ayurveda Aromatherapy, an accredited Bowen practitioner and an International Bowen instructor. 

Khursheed is a trainer and teacher for the Subtle Energies Academy and has translated Farida’s work for being commercially viable for the spa industry. 

As the Global Director of Training and Development, she heads the training team of Subtle Energies trainers, as well as still being involved as a global trainer training teams of therapists in internationally renowned destination spas in the Ayurveda Aromatherapy techniques.

Dr Tejal Shah
Dr. Tejah Shah
PhD in Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences, Doctor of Medicine, Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery

Dr. Tejal Shah has completed her Ayurvedic degrees from the renowned Gujarat Ayurved University, Jamnagar, Gujarat, India. She did her Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery (BAMS, 5 ½ years full time course) and Doctor of Medicine (MD, 3-year full time course, 2002; speciality Manasroga & Manovignan - mental disorders and mental health) from the Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda which is one of India’s premier institute in Ayurveda and recently been declared as an institute of national importance dedicated to Ayurvedic studies and research by the Ministry of AYUSH, India. The institute was recently recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and designated the institute as Global Collaborative Centre for Traditional Medicines (Ayurveda). During her MD, Dr Shah won a travel fellowship from the World Health Organisation to present her MD thesis work on Ayurvedic management of dementia at the prestigious National Institute for Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) in Bangalore, India. Dr Shah worked as a tutor for the international students of BAMS course at Gujarat Ayurved University. In India, Dr Shah has worked as honorary house physician and clinical registrar at an Ayurvedic hospital during her MD course and has completed her internship for BAMS course.

Dr Shah completed her PhD in 2013 in Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences from the University of Western Australia (Perth, Western Australia) wherein her project was on a clinical trial investigating the effects of a lifestyle intervention comprising physical exercise and computerised brain training in Alzheimer’s dementia prevention. Dr Shah has shown that a combination of physical exercise and brain training could enhance cognition in healthy community dwelling older adults. Dr Shah also possess teaching experience at Macquarie University, NSW.

Hina is an experienced healthcare and holistic therapy practitioner with over 20 years of experience as a Registered Nurse specializing in rehabilitation.

She holds a Diploma in Ayurveda Aromatherapy. Through her massage and aromatherapy business and her role as a yoga teacher, Hina combines her knowledge and experience to guide individuals towards physical and emotional well-being. She is also a member of the Subtle Energies global training team, focusing on therapists' well-being and providing nurturing care to clients.

Shaun Matthews
Dr. Shaun Matthews is a general practitioner, Ayurveda, and Yoga therapist based in Sydney.
He studied Ayurvedic medicine at Gujarat Ayurveda University and Yoga teacher training at the Bihar School of Yoga in India. Shaun is a Fellow of the College of Indian Medicine (Pune). In 1997 Shaun founded the Ayurvedic Medicine Department at Nature Care College where he co-ordinates the one-year course in Ayurvedic Healing. Shaun co-taught Ayurvedic cooking classes with Tim Mitchell in Sydney from 1994 to 2011. In 2006 and 2009 he was on the organizing committee of AYA’s international Ayurveda conferences in Sydney. Since 2007 he has supported his friends Uncle Noel Butler and his wife, Trish, in running camps for families, festivals, and a training program in Aboriginal cultural awareness. His book ‘The Art of balanced living – the right diet and Lifestyle for your body type,’ was published by Finch Publishing in 2016. Shaun is in private practice at Bondi Road Doctors in Bondi Junction.

After leaving the corporate workforce in 2008, she ran her own businesses, including a Kinesiology practice since 2020. With her business experience alongside her passion for alternative medicine, she is keen to grow AMINYA’S reputation as one of the leading schools of Natural Therapy in Australia.
